On September 20, 2024, the long-awaited iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max made their debut in Apple store locations worldwide (along with the release of Apple watches and Airpods). The iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max start at $999 and $1,199 for 128GB and 256GB storage capacities, respectively.

With Apple intelligence, the iPhone 16 Pro can rewrite, proofread, and summarize text with systemwide writing tools. It can also summarize notifications, surface time-sensitive messages, and even record and summarize audio.

In comparison to their predecessors, iPhone 15 models, which use the A16 Bionic chip, the iPhone 16 models have a newer A18 chip. Apple claims the new A18 chip is up to 40% faster in GPU(Graphics Processing Unit) performance and consumes 35% less power compared to the A16 Bionic chip. Not only do they have the largest iPhone display ever but they also boast a longer battery life than the previous iPhone models. iPhone 16 Pro Max can last for an average of 17 hours and 38 minutes. That is almost four hours longer than the iPhone 15 Pro Max and almost an hour longer than the Galaxy S24 Ultra. This makes it convenient for high-intensity gaming and surfing the web for long hours.

The iPhones 16 Pro and Pro Max come in 6.3-inch and 6.9-inch sizes respectively. The Super Retina XDR features a vibrant display and high contrast with a resolution of 2796×1290 pixels. Both models make camera control easier with a tactile switch that offers a better camera experience. Simply slide your finger to adjust the camera functions and frame your shot. The upgraded camera introduces a 48MP Fusion camera with high resolution that allows users to capture wide-angle shots and take shots from a distance with a 5× zoom.

The iPhone 16 models are water and dust-resistant, just as we expected. They feature a Grade 5 titanium design with one of the highest strength-to-weight ratios of any metal making them incredibly strong and light—talk about durability.

Apple's innovation offers a premium user experience, as in the case of the iPhone 16 Pro. We anticipate what the iPhone 17 models will bring. Rumors have it that the iPhone 17 will be released in September 2025 and will feature a faster A-series chip, an upgraded selfie camera, and a new ultra-thin model. The Apple company is not slacking off. We are eagerly waiting to see what Samsung has in store for us.
